Strait Shipping are adding to their Cook Strait fleet with the acquisition of a newer, greater capacity and more environmentally friendly ship.
Strait Shipping managing director Sheryl Ellison commented “The purchase of our new ship, added to our investment in ferry+ represents our commitment to the shipping, freight and tourism industries. We’re delighted to have both ferry+ and our new vessel here in time to meet peak passenger and freight demand through summer.
The new Strait Shipping’s vessel will be called the Straitsman.
The flexible design of ferry+ allows for the easy introduction of such fleet changes to an existing sailing schedule and even allows the transfer of bookings betweeen vessels and sailings. The ship is125 metres from bow to stern and is capable of carrying 400 passenger and 300 cars
